Business Tester – Investment Products
This is a long-running programme around the bank's investment offering: extending what clients can buy and how they are served, and keeping the underlying journeys and applications current as regulation and commercial priorities move. You will work across a portfolio of initiatives rather than a single release.
You will be a good fit if you have tested investment-services change before, are comfortable operating between product owners and engineers, and can take a scenario from design through execution to a clear status report.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in business or functional testing in the financial sector, ideally with investment products and processes
An understanding of how an investment order progresses – placement, funding checks, execution and settlement – together with the servicing events that follow, such as income distributions and unit adjustments
Ability to design, document and run test cases, including whole-journey scenarios that follow a client from account opening through to correct financial and tax outcomes
Ability to query the database directly – using SQL to confirm balances, holdings and transaction history independently of the application interface
Strong Excel skills – able to reproduce a calculation independently and hold the result up against the system's own output
Comfortable working in a test and defect management tool such as Jira
Patience for detailed, repetitive verification, with a low tolerance for rounding differences and numerical drift
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with the compliance layer around investment sales – suitability assessment, client risk classification and transaction monitoring for AML purposes
Understanding of the tax aspects of investment products, including the settlement of investment income and tax-efficient account types
Experience proving out a data migration – confirming that historical records, balances, holdings and client profiles arrived intact in the target system
Experience testing change that originates in an audit finding or a new regulatory requirement rather than in a product idea
Experience testing across system boundaries, where the investment platform depends on core banking, CRM or an external provider
Prior work on digital investment channels, or on digitalising investment processes end to end
Scope of Services:
Design, document and execute test cases and end-to-end scenarios for investment products and the applications supporting them
Confirm that the system's numbers hold – portfolio valuations, rates of return, commissions and management fees
Confirm the accuracy of everything the system issues to clients and supervisors – statements, transaction listings and regulatory reporting
Verify data at source in the database and independently reproduce bulk financial operations to confirm the system's output
Participate in SIT and UAT – log and document defects, retest fixes and track them through to resolution
Coordinate testing activity within your scope and report progress, status and risks
Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test plans, scenarios, test data and results
