Senior/Lead Robotics Simulation Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior/Lead Robotics Simulation Engineer to join an international project focused on building the software foundation for consumer household robots.
In this role, you will shape physics-based virtual test environments that enable more hardware-independent testing and help shorten robotics development cycles. You will combine hands-on software engineering with technical consulting, working across simulation, perception, planning, control, and automated testing.
We are looking for a self-driven expert who can independently design technical solutions, advise project stakeholders, and clearly document and communicate results within a distributed, international environment.
Requirements
Hands-on experience with robotics simulators such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or similar
Good knowledge of Python and/or C++
Practical experience with ROS 2 and robot modelling using URDF, SDF, or USD
Understanding of physics-based simulation and common robotic sensors
Experience with simulation testing and CI/CD integration
Very good command of English and ability to work independently
Nice to have:
Experience in consumer or mobile robotics, including navigation, SLAM, or obstacle avoidance
Knowledge of GPU-accelerated simulation or Isaac Lab
Understanding of embedded or edge-computing constraints
Experience working in international engineering teams
What you will do
Analyse existing simulation-based testing approaches and identify opportunities for further development
Design and implement physics-based virtual test environments for consumer robots
Develop and validate sensor simulation concepts
Create and maintain physically accurate virtual robot models
Integrate simulation environments with perception, planning, and control workflows
Provide technical guidance and engineering recommendations related to robotics simulation
Develop technical solutions for simulation-based regression testing
Define test scenarios, metrics, and acceptance criteria together with relevant stakeholders
Integrate simulation workflows into CI/CD environments
Implement containerized simulation execution and automated scenario regression
Document technical concepts, solutions, and results
Coordinate closely with project stakeholders across an international development environment
Participate in Scrum ceremonies and work in 14- day sprints
