Lead AI Consultant (Defence & Security)
Lead secure Generative AI solutions for defence and security clients, from discovery to delivery - designing hands-on architectures for on-premises and air-gapped environments.
Job description:
We are looking for a Lead AI Consultant who combines consulting skills with enough technical depth to design, prototype and help implement AI solutions. The role is part of Spyrosoft’s Defence, Security & Aerospace unit. You must be ready to support defence and security clients in environments that require personal security clearance, on-site work and strict control over infrastructure and data.
Our main capability need is Generative AI and the security of LLM-based solutions. We are looking for someone who understands security at both application and infrastructure level and can work without assuming that public cloud is available. Many of the projects will require on-premises or air-gapped deployments, isolated environments and tightly controlled data flows.
This is not a role limited to presentations and recommendations. You may build a prototype during discovery, help refactor an existing solution for a restricted environment and remain with the project during implementation.
You must be able to work from our Wrocław office and at client sites. The role is hybrid, but some assignments will require full on-site availability for a specified period.
Employment type: Contract of Employment
Security clearance and verification
This role requires access to defence-related projects and technologies. You must either hold a personal security clearance up to NATO SECRET / CONFIDENTIAL level or be willing to complete the required verification process.
Tech stack:
Generative AI and LLMs, RAG, AI evaluation and guardrails, Python, MLOps, networking and infrastructure security, cloud, hybrid, on-premises and air-gapped architectures.
Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of experience in IT, including at least 3 years in AI-focused roles.
Proven experience leading consulting, discovery, pre-sales, solution design or AI delivery engagements.
Strong knowledge of Generative AI and LLM-based solutions, including RAG, evaluation, guardrails, prompt engineering, fine-tuning and observability.
Deep understanding of security risks and controls across the AI solution lifecycle.
Experience designing or implementing on-premises, isolated or air-gapped solutions.
Working understanding of networking, network segmentation, secure remote access and data-flow controls.
Ability to choose technology based on security and operational constraints rather than defaulting to public cloud.
Hands-on proficiency in Python and the ability to build prototypes together with engineering teams.
Familiarity with common AI/ML tools and frameworks, such as Jupyter, MLflow, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Understanding of MLOps, deployment, monitoring and the secure management of models and supporting infrastructure.
Ability to structure complex problems and turn recommendations into an actionable delivery plan.
Strong communication, workshop facilitation and presentation skills.
Confidence in discussions with senior business, technology, infrastructure and security stakeholders.
Fluent Polish and English at C1 level.
Willingness to travel for client engagements when required.
Main responsibilities:
Lead discovery and pre-sales engagements, including workshops, opportunity assessment, use-case definition and project scoping.
Translate operational, business and security requirements into feasible AI solutions.
Assess the value, technical feasibility and security implications of AI use cases.
Advise clients on model, infrastructure and deployment choices based on their actual constraints.
Design secure AI architectures for cloud, hybrid, on-premises and air-gapped environments.
Define how data will be processed, stored and transferred, including network isolation and access controls.
Address security at application level, including prompts, RAG, guardrails and model behaviour.
Build prototypes and support implementation directly in the client’s environment.
Prepare estimates, proposals and statements of work with engineering and delivery teams.
Explain architecture and security decisions to both technical specialists and business stakeholders.
Lead AI project delivery and remain involved beyond pre-sales when the engagement requires it.
Contribute to the development of Spyrosoft’s AI Consulting offering for defence and security clients.
Additional advantages:
Experience working with defence, security, public administration or dual-use organisations.
Experience deploying AI solutions inside restricted client infrastructure.
Knowledge of regulations concerning classified information, licensed defence products or import and export controls.
Knowledge of NATO standards, including STANAGs.
An existing personal security clearance.
