Senior Business Analyst – Data Transformation & User-Centric Design
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support strategic data, process, and AI transformation initiatives. In this role, you will drive the analysis, design, and optimization of data collection and ingestion processes, ensuring high data quality and efficient service delivery. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, data stewards, and external partners to translate business needs into actionable requirements and user-centric solutions. The position combines business analysis, process improvement, data management, UX methodologies, and Agile delivery practices within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Requirements:
Experience
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in:
Business analysis and requirements management.
Defining and managing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
User-centered design methodologies, including journey mapping and pain point analysis.
Agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
End-to-end redesign of data collection or data ingestion processes.
Working within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Minimum 1 year of experience in:
Data transformation initiatives involving data management, data ingestion, or data products.
Data collection activities involving multiple organizations, countries, Member States, or comparable distributed environments.
Core Competencies
Strong understanding of data flows, data lifecycle management, and data quality principles.
Ability to effectively bridge business and technical teams.
Experience in process modeling, process analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Practical knowledge of Agile frameworks and delivery practices.
Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Tools & Technologies
Azure DevOps or similar Agile management tools (e.g., Jira).
Process and data modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Signavio, BPMN tools).
Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint).
Data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI (preferred).
UX and collaboration tools such as Miro or Figma (preferred).
Nice to have:
Experience working with EU institutions, agencies, or regulatory environments (e.g., EFSA).
Exposure to AI-enabled transformation initiatives and data-driven innovation programs.
Understanding of data governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
Experience supporting large-scale organizational transformation programs.
Main responsibilities:
Lead the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of business requirements, including epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Analyze and redesign data collection, data ingestion, and data management processes to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Conduct current-state (as-is) and future-state (to-be) process assessments, identifying gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
Apply user-centered design techniques, including user journey mapping, persona development, and pain point analysis, to enhance data services and user experiences.
Support the implementation of data quality frameworks, validation mechanisms, exception handling processes, and operational readiness activities.
Collaborate with business units, IT teams, data stewards, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
Facilitate Agile delivery activities, including backlog management, story refinement, sprint planning, reviews, testing coordination, and user acceptance support.
Drive stakeholder engagement and communication across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring transparency and effective decision-making.
Contribute to data and AI transformation programs through structured business analysis and process optimization initiatives.
Support the adoption of best practices related to data governance, process management, and continuous improvement.
