Senior Autonomous Systems Engineer (Defence, Security and Aerospace)
Tech stack:
C / C++ / Python (depending on system layer)
ROS / ROS2 (robotics integration)
Real-time systems (RTOS)
Autonomous systems algorithms (perception, navigation, planning, control)
Simulation tools (e.g. Gazebo, MATLAB, Simulink or similar)
Embedded platforms and hardware-software integration
System architecture design for autonomous systems (land, air, maritime)
Requirements:
Extensive experience in embedded systems architecture design
Strong background in robotics systems and autonomous platforms
Hands-on experience with real-time or near real-time systems
Solid understanding of perception, navigation, planning or control algorithms
Experience with simulation-driven development and system validation
Ability to translate high-level requirements into system and software architecture
Experience working across hardware, low-level software and high-level autonomy layers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Polish – fluent / native
English – C1
Willingness to undergo security clearance process (up to NATO Secret / Tajne)
Availability to work from the Wrocław office when required
Nice to have:
Experience in defence, security or public sector projects
Knowledge of NATO standards (e.g. STANAG)
Experience with mission-critical or safety-critical systems
Familiarity with formal system engineering or validation processes
Experienced in using AI tools in day-to-day workflow
Project description:
You will join a project focused on designing and developing advanced autonomous systems operating in land, air and maritime environments.
The role requires defining system architecture and supporting teams in building robust, scalable and secure solutions that meet strict defence and safety requirements.
Main responsibilities:
Design and define architecture for autonomous systems (hardware + software)
Define system decomposition, components and interfaces across layers
Design and review algorithms for perception, navigation, decision-making and control
Ensure performance, feasibility and robustness of solutions
Support development teams and resolve complex technical challenges
Define and apply simulation-based approaches for system design and validation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (embedded, robotics, electronics, systems)
Ensure compliance with safety, reliability and defence requirements
