About the role

This Job is mainly about operating technical Backup Solutions with Commvault. You manage an existing Backup environment with Workloads in the Private and Public Cloud.
You are regularly working 8x5 to cover inside office hours. From time to time you are participating on weekly Incident on-call Service. You are flexible in planning your tasks but keeping Process- and Technical Service Levels is the main priority of your work. You work self-responsible and proactive on Incidents, requests based on your own or other working instruction. You make an important contribution to our customers with delivering high-quality and comprehensive Backup Operation Services quickly and efficiently.
In this way, you support the business of our customers and their satisfaction.

As a Backup team member, you are part of the “Last line of defense” in case of Security issue or data loss.

What will you do?

Customer interaction and Requirement Engineering. Understand customer Backup requirements. Advice customers with regards to optimization options in the areas of Backup and Recovery performance, installation, and configuration.

Deliver Service within the SLA. Resolve Tasks and Incidents as per the given Service Response and Resolution times.
Deployment. Implement Backup Clients and extend existing Backup Infrastructure Servers and Storage. Integrate Storage Devices and Network Settings into the Backup infrastructure. Prepare Backup Storage- and Schedule Policies.

Orchestrate and Measure. Integrate Backup Components to the Monitoring, Reporting, CMDB and other ITSM System. Monitor and Control Hardware, Software and License Resources. Make sure that enough Capacity is available.

Automation as code. Optimize existing Infrastructure deployments and change processes using workflow automation and scripting.

Knowledge Sharing. Share your knowledge and best practices via Trainings and Demos underpinned by Handouts and Operational Manuals.

What should you bring?

IT education and Data Center Infrastructure Experience. You have a degree in computer science/business informatics or a comparable qualification. You are experienced in operating, automating and optimizing Backup environments and configurations for different Backup workloads. You know what is important in an IT Service Life cycle.

Customer focus. You are keen to understand the Customer needs and transform requirements into solutions. In the end you identify and implement Win/Win Solutions for internal or external Customers.

Advanced Expertise in Backup. You have high expertise in Commvault Backup environments. You have practical experience how to operate and adapt Commvault Backup in Microsoft Azure Cloud context. You can do root cause analysis to identify Backup issues and resolve problems on Backup infrastructure and Backup Client level. Among others you know especially how Backup for SAP HANA, Oracle, VADP works. You know how to install Intellisnap Backup.

Solid Expertise in Operating System, Storage and Cloud technologies. You have a good knowledge in at least one Operating System Linux or Windows. You can check Server and network load for bottlenecks. You have good knowledge in Storage Solutions like Snapshot, Vault, Staging and Mirroring.

Automation and Scripting. You have good practical Scripting skills with Windows PowerShell, Linux Bash or Ansible Automation. You know how to create Commvault Workflows.

Managed Service. You have experience in how to provide End-to-End IT Services to the customer with the help of ITIL practices.

Interpersonal Skills. You have a proactive, team-oriented mindset. With your communication skills, your reliability, and loyalty you will help the Team to success.
