Principal DevOps Engineer (Data Processing Infrastructure) - FTC [UK]

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to join us working with our media client as part of their Data Processing Infrastructure team. The role will focus on building and delivery a robust, scalable, organisational-agnostic and modular foundation to support data processing at scale.The successful applicant will drive the delivery of the foundational infrastructure patterns for adaptable large-scale data processing, ensure the delivered infrastructure is highly scalable for the growing volumes, evaluate and recommend data processing technologies/tools, drive the adoption of best practices in Infrastructure-as-code, work closely with teams to ensure seamless integration and provide deep technical expertise to engineering teams.As a major contributor to the team, this person will have previous experience of working in Agile environment, be a great communicator who enjoys collaborating with other teams and a team player who encourages collaboration and contribution.
Essential Key Skills and Responsibilities
You will:
- have implemented infrastructure within large volume organisations
- be an expert AWS expert with AWS certifications
- have good practical knowledge of AWS CDK (or Terraform)
- be a CI/CD specialist with experience of CloudWatch or Jenkins
- be knowledgeable on setting up all aspects of infrastructure to include monitoring and security
- enjoy collaborating with development teams and have a strong willingness to educate others
- have professional experience of working in projects using Agile development processes

Experience
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
- Proven experience as a Principal Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
- Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
- Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
- Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
- You are flexible and curious in your approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Additional information
Duration of the contract: initially 12 months with the possibility of extension – contract FTC (full-time)
