We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic individual to join the Engineering leadership team in Warsaw. In partnership with Klarna, you will play a pivotal role in establishing an innovative fintech IT hub dedicated to advancing digital payment solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead and coach cross-functional engineering teams working on mission-critical business challenges for Klarna.
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect, implement, and maintain highly scalable and robust systems deployed in AWS.
• Ensure end-to-end project execution, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Drive integration and architectural alignment through close collaboration with other teams.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Detect and resolve issues proactively within distributed and financial systems.
• Encourage the adoption of engineering best practices and agile processes within highly autonomous teams.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL and designing scalable, resilient systems.
• Solid experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Thorough understanding of distributed and financial systems with an analytical, preventive approach to problem-solving.
• Proven ability to independently manage end-to-end technical projects.
• Demonstrated track record in effective engineering team leadership and culture-building.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills for cross-domain collaboration.
