Lead Java Engineer

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in backend development

  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and designing scalable, robust systems

  • Expertise in cloud technologies, especially AWS

  • Knowledge of distributed and financial systems, with a focus on proactive issue prevention

  • Ability to manage projects independently from end to end

  • Leadership experience and a track record of fostering positive engineering cultures

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and domains

  • Fluency in spoken and written English


    • Main responsibilities:

  • Working on problem spaces critical to Klarna’s business, with flexibility to change teams as needed

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Java and Spring Boot

  • Building scalable and reliable systems deployed in AWS

  • Participating in the full project lifecycle — from concept to deployment and maintenance

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on integration and architecture

  • Promoting engineering best practices with a focus on innovation and quality

  • Identifying and addressing issues in distributed and financial systems

  • Contributing within small, autonomous teams with fast release cycles
